HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LEFAY RESORT & SPA DOLOMITI

It was August 1st in 2019 and the rooms smelled of freshly cut wood, releasing hints of resin. Team members were settling into their newly donned uniforms, ready to welcome their very first guests. The customary photo taken, the group facing a new challenge and the ribbon-cutting ceremony: you could feel the excitement at the entrance to the new resort in the Madonna di Campiglio skiarea, later recognised as the iconic black diamond in the Brenta Dolomites.

Five years have passed and today Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti celebrates its first five-year anniversary. With 6 international certifications and more than 40 worldwide awards, including the title of “Best Sustainable SPA in the World 2023”, last year the Resort counted 44,361 overnight guests, with people from all over the globe.

It amazed thanks to its construction in record time and timely opening. The official inauguration, held close to the winter season after the soft opening, was greeted by an early heavy snowfall, giving a fairy-tale feeling, and lighting up the astonished eyes of the participants.

Before long, the brand-new Resort was the talk of the tourism industry: Condè Nast Traveller UK featured it in an exclusive first review, designating it ‘Green Champion’, opening the way for other coverage by leading European newspapers. A few months after its opening, it was closed due to the restrictions during pandemic. A premature stop, which nevertheless, upon reopening, helped to enhance the property’s assets: large spaces, with suites starting from 57 sqm, a 5,000 sqm SPA and extensive common areas; close contact with nature and an experience based on holistic wellness, according to the Lefay SPA Method principles. Also surprising were the results reached by the new Serviced Branded Residences segment, launched with the new property, within which 21 residences were built, directly connected to all five-star services. Sales were announced in 2018 and successfully completed in 2022.

Over the years, the stay experience has been enriched with a selection of complimentary outdoor activities, allowing our guests to explore the mountains with multiple guided itineraries, hiking or by e-bike. Outdoor is also key in the “Active & Balance” programme, recently awarded by the European Health & SPA Award in the “SPA Innovation” category, thanks to the therapeutic power of nature, combined with the theory of the five movements of Classical Chinese Medicine.

Staring at that black diamond among the trees will always be impressive, especially while recalling the time at which it was only a set of wooden beams on the top of the construction site. It took a good dose of imagination, never enough though, to conceive the pure and incomparable beauty of Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti.
